Now, pills to prevent heart disease: but are cholesterol-lowering drugs right for women?

A marketing campaign has begun for Pravachol after a study of Scottish men indicated that the drug reduced cholesterol levels and heart-disease mortality by some 20%, but the study may have little relevance for women. There been little research conducted on women and cholesterol.

Estrogen to prevent Alzheimer's?
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that estrogen supplements may prevent or delay Alzheimer's disease in women. Estrogen, which protects the bones, may also protect the brain by causing levels of nerve growth factors to rise.
