Short-term creatine supplementation does not alter the hormonal response to resistance training

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of creatine monohydrate supplementation on testosterone, cortisol, and growth hormone response in healthy men after a resistance training session. Findings indicate that creatine supplementation resulted in higher post-exercise serum cortisol levels, but testosterone and growth hormone levels were similar to control subjects.

Phosphocreatine resynthesis is not affected by creatine loading

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on nine males to analyze the effect of short-term creatine supplements on muscle performance and resynthesis. Concentration of muscle creatine and phosphocreatine increase and performance improved, but creatine loading did not improve the resynthesis process. Dynamic knee extension torque was measured during the study.

Dietary creatine supplementation and muscular adaption to resistive overload

Article Abstract:

Muscle training individuals were studied to test whether creatine supplementation helps build stronger muscles that are more resistant to fatigue. A study done with electromyostimulation showed that while muscle size grew, there was no increased strength or fatigue resistance.
