Ski-walk to a trimmer tummy and super fitness

Article Abstract:

Walking with poles exercises the upper body as well as the legs and burns 25% more calories. Initial embarrassment can be overcome by getting a friend to join you. Ski-walking tones arms, abdominal muscles and legs, because it imitates the motions of cross-country skiing. Any pole of the right length will work.

Prevention walkers afoot in Santa Fe

Article Abstract:

Almost 100 members of the Prevention Walking Club traveled to Santa Fe, NM, to explore the area's mountains and plains, and to take a whitewater rafting trip on the Rio Grande. The occasion was the Seventh Annual Walker's Rally, held in May 1995.
