Article Abstract:

A study involving more than 20,000 pregnant women suggests that those who take hot baths during the first six weeks after conception run an increased risk of fetal neural tube defects. Women who are trying to conceive are encouraged to avoid hot tubs, saunas, and the like.

Heart transplant waiting lists are notoriously long, but research suggests that some cardiac patients can rehabilitate their own hearts while waiting. In a new study, 30 of 68 cardiacs on transplant waiting lists underwent successful exercise therapy.

A new study shows that using a sunscreen agent on the lips can prevent the formation of herpes sores. A sunscreen agent may even prevent the transmission of the herpes virus.
