Speed doctors: how the pros make a go-fast faster
Article Abstract:
A project to increase the speed of a Fountain 42 Lightning equipped with twin MerCruiser HP500 V-8 engines is described. The baseline speed of 64.5 mph was upped to 69.7 mph by increasing propeller pitch and changing the gear ratio.
