The 40-pound raccoon

Article Abstract:

A hunter recalls a raccoon hunting trip where he thought he caught two raccoons over 40 pounds. After weighing them, however, he discovered that the animals weighed only 26-28 pounds. Like in other sports, the 40-pound raccoon is a myth which only entices hunters to spend huge amounts of money on coon dogs and hunting equipment.

Born to be mild

Article Abstract:

Gun dogs that have the right breeding will not need much training to become good bird dogs. Forcing dogs to be what they are not never works and it is better to let them use their instincts to help with hunting.
