The Dragon at Gold Mountain is a semi-private course built above the Feather River in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains, with a clubhouse designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Part of a golf-centered, second-home community built in Plumas County, the golf course is built on the side of a mountain, and par for the course is 72.

Tahoe belles

The Reno/Lake Tahoe region drops skiing and promotes golf from mid-May to October. Nine facilities are described with prices. An excellent course is the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course near Stateline, NV on a site which was once a stop for the Pony Express. Its features are discussed.
