This article explores the incident in which NBA player Latrell Sprewell physically attacked his coach P.J. Carlesimo. The author argues Sprewell's violent outburst against Carlesimo threatened male white privilege and power in that young, African American Sprewell was in the subserviant role as player under the domination of older, white Carlesimo.
