Kenny DeHoff describes his experience of his first swimming lesson when his instructor coaxed him to leave the rail and swim a short distance to him. Some of the lessons learned by him that includes tying an anchor to the boat, and avoiding swimming after dinghies unless it is a life-and-death situation is presented.

A sailor describes his experience through Fiji as he sails through the islands of the South Pacific. He states that one can move to Fiji when one wants to move on to the higher latitudes and cooler temperature of New Zealand.
