The Austrian ski team is very successful and the team is highly lauded in their home land. The 1998 Austrian ski team was among the best the world has seen. Herman Maier's performance was extraordinary and the other members of the team have proved to be very capable.

Cannon Mountain was the site of the first North American ski trail and ski school. The first aerial tram was added in 1938. Newer amenities include ski lifts, snow-making equipment and modern trails.
