Many fishers are poor casters because unlike gunners and bowhunters, they do not have games to practice their skills. A practice target course can be set up around the home. Casters should use the same gear they take fishing and try to practice in weather conditions they expect to find fishing.

The reach cast

Drag is prevented by presenting the fly ahead of the leader. The reach cast will assist an angler is successful trout fishing. The target should be two or three feet upstream of the prey, and after the cast is complete the rod is moved upstream.
