The federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and US Department of Agriculture (USDA) are regulating the nutrition facts panel, ingredient list, food safety instructions and health claims. The USDA has come out with a rule requiring each food item to be labeled with 'USDA Organic' after following a set of standards. The set of standards for food item includes calories, fat, nutrients, and freshness of the product.
