Too fat to ski?
Article Abstract:
More than half of Americans are overweight, with more than twenty percent meeting the definition of obesity. The sedentary lifestyle has produced a segment of society who do not meet the physical requirements of athletic recreation such as skiing. Statistics show that the number of skiers in America has dropped to less than seven and one-half million in the last decade, down from 11 million. Strategies for getting Americans out of unhealthy lifestyle habits and into recreational activity are detailed.
