Treatment of exercise-induced muscle injury via hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Article Abstract:

This article evaluates the effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a treatment for exercise-induced injuries to forearm flexor muscles. Results indicate that hyperbaric oxygen therapy had no effect on isometric strength, muscle soreness, or levels of serum creatine kinase.

Plasma creatine kinase responses of 18-to 30-yr-old African-American men to eccentric exercise

Article Abstract:

Research finding indicate no differences in the response for changes in plasma creatine kinase activity and skeletal muscle injury between African-Americans and Caucasians following eccentric exercise.

Effects of prior exercise on eccentric exercise-induced neutrophilia and enzyme release

Article Abstract:

Results point out that similar responses in myofibrillar injury, neutrophils, and creatine kinase activity are observed subsequent to submaximal exercise followed by eccentric exercise.
