Trim the season to grow the game

Article Abstract:

The 11-month professional tennis season is detrimental to the players and the sport in general. With a year of countless events and only one month off, players become exhausted and unfit while spectators become uninterested. A two-month off-season would give time for the players to maintain their level of skill and stamina.

Article Abstract:

Fluctuations and extremities of weather play a significant part in determining the outcome of a tennis game. Weather not only affects the players, but the facilities as well, including the ball and court. Some players like playing in hot climates while others do not.
