Trimaran survives 5,000-mile midlife crisis

Article Abstract:

The 40-ft boat capsized in April 1995 during a storm. Hogg and the designer Jim Antrim were airlifted from the boat. About a year later, the inverted boat was sighted near Nomwin Island, Micronesia. Hogg donated the boat and its antenna to the islanders for their intra-island communication system.

Vanuatu's cowfish and cargo cultists

Article Abstract:

A yacht cruise from Fiji to Efate Island in the Republic of Vanuatu is described. Some of the local islanders are members of a cult waiting for the return of Jon Crum, a composite of the US soldiers who handled cargo there during World War II.

Shipwrecked on Suwarrow

Article Abstract:

A yacht cruise to Suwarrow in the Cook Islands of the South Pacific is described. The cruise included a visit to a British sailor, Ian McNair, who had shipwrecked his cutter on the island's outer reef.
