Unsafe at any depth?: ScubaLab investigates mail-order BCs
Article Abstract:
An evaluation by ScubaLab of the six best mail-order private-label jacket-style buoyancy compensators reveals that only Berry Scuba's Traveler is adequate. The BCs were tested for their flow rate, air trapping, buoyant lift, fit and comfort, attitude and stability, assembly and adjustments, attachments and pockets, valve operation, and ascent control. The other five BCs evaluated are the Divers Discount Supply Ocean Quest Pro, Divers Supply Sea Elite Quest Pro, Leisure Pro Blue Reef Admiral, Mr Diver Pro Duck Black Shadow and the Performance Diver Solace Pro.
