Urban oasis: searching for a unique solution to a common environmental problem, one city has found a way to turn wastewater into wetlands

Article Abstract:

The Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area in Columbia, MO, is the first project of its kind in the world to make use of effluent from a city's wastewater treatment facility to create a wetland area for wildlife. Biologist Jim Loveless is in charge of the 3,700-acre project.

Getting close to waterfowl

Successful waterfowl hunting involves finding a location that will be appealing to the birds, using a bird call to lure them and remaining motionless in a blind until the birds are close enough to ensure that they can be easily shot.
