Using mental imagery to enhance intrinsic motivation
Article Abstract:
Analysis of data from 39 beginner golfers from a university revealed that mental imagery improved the motivation levels of golfers. Golfers in the performance imagery condition spent relatively more time practicing putting a golf ball than golfers in the control state. Golfers using mental imagery set bigger goals, had more practical expectations and attended training programs more regularly.

Article Abstract:
A study reveals that women's sport competition trait anxiety (A-trait) is correlated with anxiety about their appearance and how they present themselves socially. Individuals with high and low A-traits perceive threat in a sport competition differently. The study also suggests that women may be threatened by a negative evaluation of both sports performance and physical appearance.
