Joe Parkhurst established Cycle World in Jan. 1961 with Gordon Jennings as technical editor, Carol Anderson as associate editor and his wife, Betty Jean, as circulation manager. The first copy, which had 50 pages and three full-page advertisements, sold for 35 cents.
