Whatever floats your boat

Article Abstract:

Tony Mears, a self-described serial inventor and cofounder of FloatLogic, patented a FloatRail system designed to deploy manually or automatically, when a boat takes excess water. The FloatRail system contains a CO2 or nitrogen gas mixture fitted in its 20-pound tanks below decks, which passes through two thorough-hulls on each side of the boat and inflates a series of 22-ounce nylon flotation bags available for both power as well as sailboats.
