During winter in Quebec, when the river is cold, hidden in fog, swept by treacherous currents, with too many ships passing and few anchorages available, the sailors tend to sail away from Quebec to Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. But for some, cruising the tumultuous gulf in winter, confronting the chilling challenges and motoring through locks, is more worth.
