NADAPC SCRAPS ICEBOX PLAYER
Article Abstract:
NadaPC has abandoned its planned combination countertop TV and DVD/CD player, under development in a joint venture with Samsung and CMi Worldwide, in favor of a different model with a slightly larger screen it will develop in-house. The Interactive Communication Entertainment Box (iCEBOX) would have had a nine-inch CRT-based TV with Internet access and be offered to consumers free in exchange for a three-year commitment to NadaPC's $21.95/mo ISP service. NadaPC states that CMi had trouble bringing the product to market fast enough to meet its expectations.
