The gourd is perhaps the oldest cultivated plant in the world, has a million uses and and has served most of the planet's cultures at one time or another. The American Gourd Society, with 5,000 members, can attest to the gourd's continuing popularity. Birdhouses, food containers, musical instruments, tools and dippers have all been made from gourds. There are 825 known species.

Article Abstract:
The foreign policy stance of the GOP and the Democrats is not the same, but it is close enough to make it difficult for Dole to use this as a campaign issue. As the symbol of his party he does agree in part with each of the two factions of the GOP. Yet there is much he disagrees with.

Issues are presented concerning the inspection of a multi-purpose cable ship in dry dock by a Lloyds Register marine surveyor. The inspection tasks undertaken by the surveyor and the method of working are discussed.
