Article Abstract:
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has stipulated a set of standards on the operation of shipboard incinerators to regulate ocean dumping of sludge and garbage. Ship incinerator manufacturers produce cyclonic and double chamber types of systems to meet IMO laws on waste disposal. Manufacturers specify different systems for particular applications. Atlas Incinerators recommends their dual chamber Maxi 25 SL model, with a rating of 130,000 kcal/hr, for a bulker with 23 crew and a MAN B&W 6S60MC running on heavy fuel oil.
