City sues over Cosco Busan oil pollution

The city of San Francisco, California, is suing the owners and pilot of container ship Cosco Busan, seeking damages expected to be in millions of dollars. The container ship hit the San Francisco-Oakland Bay bridge on 3 November 2007, releasing 58,000 tons of heavy fuel into San Francisco Bay.

OSG fined for pollution

Overseas Shipholding Group's (OSG) agreement to pay $37 million towards the oil-dumping settlement is discussed. OSG has pleaded guilty to the pollution caused by deliberate discharge of oily waste from its vessels.
