Effectiveness of primary enforcement safety belt laws and enhanced enforcement of safety belt laws: A summary of the guide to community preventive services systematic reviews
Article Abstract:
Primary safety belts laws and enhanced enforcement programs tend to result in greater increase in usage rates for target groups with lower baseline rates. Based on the strong evidence for the effectiveness of primary safety belt laws and enhanced enforcement programs, it was recommended that all stated enact primary safety belt laws and that communities implement enhanced enforcement programs.

Evaluation of the Reading, PA nighttime safety belt enforcement campaign: September 2004
Article Abstract:
The problem of lower rates of safety belt use among front seat occupants of passenger vehicles at night than during the day is discussed. Front seat occupant belt use at night increased significantly from 50% to 56 % just after the publicity and enforcement campaign, shown in newspapers and on television.

Article Abstract:
The effects of the enactment of state laws, that required safety belts use in various U.S. states between 1986 and 2000, are discussed. The use of belt increased significantly between 1986 and 2000, as the laws contributed positively.
