Evaluation of pedestrian speed in Jordan with investigation of some contributing factors

Article Abstract:

This article evaluates pedestrian walking speeds in Jordan. The author, maintaining Jordan does not have specific guidelines regarding timing traffic signals to allow adequate time for pedestrians to cross safely, found that pedestrians 21-30 years old were the fastest and pedestrians over 65 were the slowest, males usually walked faster than females, and groups walked slower than individuals or couples.
