Captain Hilmar Snorrason is chairman of the International Association for Safety and Survival Training. He believes and has a vision for zero accidents in the shipping environment and one of his basic rules is that no one goes on the deck without wearing a helmet.

Testing for real?
Article Abstract:
A mock exercise named Ocean Guardian III had explosion and fire taken place in a ship, but the simulation turned real as 21 people were brought to the hospital after being overwhelmed by fumes in an enclosed liferaft. Lessons drawn from the incident are discussed.
