Article Abstract:

UK officials say that the Ice Prince cargo ship could have sunk because the metal bands that secured the ship's cargo of timber snapped. The ship was originally destined for Alexandria when it encountered difficulties during a storm in the English Channel on January 13, 2008. Much of the ship's 5,259 tons of sawn timber washed up on England's south coast after the accident.
