Pick-to-light: choices, choices, choices
Article Abstract:
Pick-to-light equipment makers have introduced new models that combines existing systems with other material handling systems resulting in a number of hybrids, orderpicking products that offers more features than current available devices. Among these are voice recognition systems that are available in English or Spanish languages and infrared sensors that have been shown to make the orderpicking process faster. Other systems already in the market include mobile carts with RF terminals that allow real-time communication of orders with a central computer and horizontal carousels that are equipped with light trees that work well in areas with limited space.
