Lifeboat mishap
Article Abstract:
A routine inspection and testing of the on-load release mechanism of lifeboats led to a sudden disengagement of the lifeboat with a seaman inside. It is suggested that hazardous operations such as lifeboat launching and testing should be conducted during daytime to avoid a repeat of this incident.
