The controversy surrounding the expulsion from the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) of Polish classification society Polski Rejestr Statkow (PRS) is discussed. PRS has criticized the IACS survey system, and has expressed fears about the possible emergence of a 'super'-IACS.
