The relationship between road accident severity and recorded weather
Article Abstract:
Accident severity and the prevailing weather during certain hazardous conditions are related. Accident severity declines appreciably in rain compared with fine weather, while severity in fog depends on geographical factors. There is no conclusive data showing a relationship between accident severity and high winds. These were gleaned from an examination of the relationship between weather and road accidents in England and Wales, using weather information recorded on Police Accident Report Forms.

Injury severity codes: A comparison of police injury codes and medical outcomes as determined by Nass CDS investigators
Article Abstract:
The police-assigned KABCO scores for some motor vehicle occupants of case vehicles with injuries in the 1994-2003 NASS CDS (National Automotive Sampling System and Crashworthiness Data system) database were examined in a study to determine the accuracy with which the officers have identified injury severity. The overview of this comparison showed that the police officers at the scene of the crash did a good job of identifying the injury severity of the victims.

The mechanism and severity of nonoccupational ladder fall injuries
Article Abstract:
Research on nonoccupational falls showed various factors for age, gender, and task. Men tended to fall from greater heights than women during outdoor tasks, while women tended to fall from stepladders while performing indoor activities; most falls were caused by people reaching too far sideways.
