The spatial relationship between licensed alcohol outlets and alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes in Gwinnett County, Georgia
Article Abstract:
There is no significant relationship between alcohol-related single-vehicle crashes and close proximity to an on-site, retail alcohol outlet. This was the key finding in a case-control study conducted in Gwinnett County, GA, which aimed to determine whether there is an association between alcohol-related single-vehicle crashes and distance from drinking location. The study also found that Geographic Information System technology can be useful in assessing potential risk factors for alcohol-related motor-vehicle crashes.

Deterrence and the adolescent drinking driver
Article Abstract:
Research on teenage automobile drivers who drink alcoholic beverages is discussed. Binge drinkers who were relatively certain of punishment when caught were less likely to drink and drive, while deterrence did not influence non-binge drinkers.
