Units dedicated to genset drives
Article Abstract:
Wartsila Diesel Inc, Daihatsu and Krupp Maschinenbau GmBH launched their respective 200mm-bore medium-speed engines in 1992. These engine designs were primarily designed for auxilliary power applications aboard ships. The engine designs focused on giving higher reliability and lower maintenance and operating costs through the incorporation of simplier components. In addition, the engines alsooffered lower noise, vibration and emissions.
