A break from the norm
Article Abstract:
Among the world's least known attractions is a museum in Stavanger, Norway, which tells the story of the world's oil industry through exhibits and videos. The Norwegian Petroleum Museum also offers a shop and an award-winning restaurant. Meanwhile, Bergen's Vestlandske Kunstindustrie has one of the world's largest collections of Chinese art, donated by local philanthropist General Munthe. The museum is under-visited with just 20,000 guests a year. Separately, Cape Town's newly-opened Holocaust Centre has been designed as part memorial and part education resource, offering new interpretations of Nazi ideology.

Space traveller
Article Abstract:
The titanium-clad, sculptured architecture of the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain, has attracted much acclaim since the museum's opening in Oct 1997. However, attention to the splendour of the building has overshadowed the important collection inside it, which represents the art of the 20th century. Frank Gehry's versatile and unusual gallery spaces are able to display all art forms so there are video experiences in darkened rooms, small pictures in small rooms, and large three-dimensional exhibits in vast spaces.
