Airtours performs new trick on Europe's stage

Article Abstract:

British tour operator, Airtours, is set to become the market leader in Belgium after offering 70 million pounds sterling for Belgium's largest tour company, Sun International. Airtours will acquire a share of the short break holiday market and also the charter airline, Air Belgium. Airtours plans a thorough examination of Sun International's finances before making any major decisions. Airtours is keen on expanding into Europe and Scandinavia because it does not want to openly compete in the United Kingdom (UK) with Thompson, which is the UK market leader.
