For whom does 'The Bell Curve' toll?
Article Abstract:
Interpretations of intelligence, as in Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray's book 'The Bell Curve', are in dispute among psychologists and behavioral scientists. Intelligence has to do with the ability to interact culturally and to generate culturally valued products. What really is important is actualized intelligence. Intelligence is part of the interaction between an individual's attributes and his environment. A person who is good in one format may be bad or average in another. Hence, emphasis on performance testing alone to measure intelligence can be misleading.

Attendance records
Article Abstract:
A report carried out by the School of Business and Economic Studies at Leeds University on behalf of the Museums and Galleries Commission has looked at the future market potential for museums and art galleries. It indicates 110 million visits as a new estimate of demand for museums and art galleries, with demand have remained almost static over the last six-seven years. Museums and art galleries still have wide-ranging appeal, but politicians will not be convinced about this until audited performance data of visits can be produced.

Enlargement of remaining patella after partial patellectomy in rabbits
Article Abstract:
The remaining patella may grow larger after partial patellectomy, the removal of the kneecap. Histologic and radiographic evaluation showed bone outgrowth and metaplasia in 24 rabbits 8 to 24 weeks after the knee surgery. Wound healing also involved patellar tendon calcification connected by scar tissue. The increased bone length has implications for less contact pressure and better knee function following partial patellectomy.
