Article Abstract:

Best Western International Inc. is comprised of 3,897 properties of branded, independently-owned and operated hotels, motels and resorts. Company sales in fiscal 1997 was at around $408.9 million, as compared to around $380 million in the previous year. The success in that year was due to the company's aggressive approach in marketing in brands by forming ties with American Airlines frequent flyer program as well as with Canadian Airlines frequent flyer. The company also tied up with Petro-Canada and in by the end of 1998, it will expand its VIA Rail tie up.
