Broadening access

Article Abstract:

Liverpool City Council is working in partnership with disabled groups to make leisure centres in the city more accessible. The council's Leisure Services manages libraries, sports and recreation centres, cultural activities, tourism and arts located in some 100 buildings. As a result of the council's initiative, the Disability Forum has been formed which gives officials the opportunity to discuss improvements in access to all service areas.

Why having nothing to do could be a crime

Article Abstract:

Young people resort to crime activities when they do not have anything to do. The leisure professionals can involve them in leisure activities during school holidays and vacations, which will reduce the crime rate.
