Antarctica
Article Abstract:
The tourist industry of Antarctica is limited due to the inaccessibility of the region and small range of travellers the area would appeal to. Independent travel is almost non-existent due to the large distances needed to travel to reach the area. The sensitivity of the region must remain a priority when developing the tourist industry. The industry was valued at about $42,762,000 in 1998, with 12,604 travellers visiting the region.
