Do we want any new development at Stonehenge?

Article Abstract:

Roy Swanston, of English Heritage argues for the Stonehenge Conservation and Management Project. A visitors' centre would have educational value and encourage tourism as inadequate facilities have disappointed visitors. Redevelopment plans have been based on environmental considerations. Amy Hall, of the Save Stonehenge group opposes encouragement of tourism on environmental grounds. The A344 road has historical and practical value and should be retained. Stonehenge has been devalued under English Heritage management and should be left alone.

Some look for sex, but most want relaxation

Article Abstract:

Gay male and lesbian tourists can spend more than average tourists since they do not have children, and they prefer specialised, not mass market hotels. Older tourists have more to spend and tend to seek luxury packages. Some half travel alone, and half in couples. Companies offering holidays only to homosexuals may encounter problems since many gay people do not want to book with a travel agent only dealing with gays. Most tourists seek to relax on holiday, though some seek sex.
