Into the millennium: The Hospitality Training foundation has a busy year ahead, with plans to revise some qualifications, and to maximise the benefits of the New Deal
Article Abstract:
The Hospitality Training Foundation (HtF) is committed to raising industry standards and business performance via training and education. In 1998 all the key industry organizations came together to develop an Education and Training Strategy for the industry. HtF worked closely with the Employment Service in 1998 to ensure that the industry benefits from the New Deal. Work in Scotland has involved the implementation of Scottish Vocational Qualifications in prisons.

The Education and Training Strategy will coordinate current initiatives in the hospitality industry. It aims to provide a better understanding of hospitality, encourage more people into the industry, promote a defined public image and develop a learning culture in the industry. Initiatives will include Excellence Through People, Springboard UK, Hospitality Assured and HtF Investors in People.
