The Grameen Bank of Bangladesh is a model of sustainable human development with its focus on poverty-alleviation of the rural poor. The bank has given credit to borrowers without collateral based on a principle of trust. The structure of the bank, which involves its members in decision-making has helped the sense of development. The bank also attempts to address social issues through its "Sixteen Decisions," which its members are encouraged to practice.
