Computer-using children observe unbelievably high standards and are very critical of their work in computers. They want professional-quality art everytime they use computers but settle for not-so-perfect work when using crayons and paper. This is attributed to the pressure children are subjected to by their parents. Experts believe that the computer enhances the pressure and force children to become more competitive and hold high expectations of themselves.

Issues relating to the implementation of Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) were discussed recently at a seminar entitled 'Scottish Vocational Qualifications: Working in Leisure.' The leisure industry has experienced some difficulties with implementing SVQ requirements, but generally has a very positive view on this issue. It is likely that there will be a rise in SVQ uptake, boosting overall workplace training in the leisure industry.
