Rewards

Article Abstract:

Praise and awards may be as effective in increasing productivity as financial incentives. However, their benefits are largely under-estimated. Rewarding good work encourages initiative. However, regular recognition is more effective than an annual award. A manager should recognise the achievement quickly and be specific about the work being praised. A consistent approach maintains credibility.
