Scandinavians becoming much more adventurous
Article Abstract:
Nordic holidaymakers are increasingly taking holidays in exotic Asian destinations, with Thailand one of the most popular long haul destinations. Over 77,000 Swedes visited Thailand in 1995, 45,000 Danes, 25,000 Norwegians and 22,000 Fins, according to figures from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The most popular destinations are Bangkok and Phuket, although many Nordic visitors are branching out and trying trekking, mountain biking, scuba diving and sea canoeing activities throughout the country.

Article Abstract:

It has published a directory of Thai diving schools that provide diving expeditions, to market Thailand as diving destination. Germany demand for pure diving holidays in Thailand is still small but more and more package tourists are booking short courses locally.
