The l eisure i ndustry is predicted to experience strong growth of 15 % over the period 2002-07 with gambling and home entertainment. Statistical analysis of the trends in the household consumer expenditure and the growth in real consumer spending on leisure and value are given.

A survey was conducted by the Future Foundation to know the amount spent by the UK population on experiences and activities. The Future Foundation forecasts that by 2007 the UK population would be spending around 115 billion pounds sterling per year on experience and activities.
