Trends in the restaurant industry are discussed. Results of an online survey of American diners showed that 89% of consumers have researched a restaurant in the World Wide Web prior to visiting it. Based on these results, it is believed that online marketing works. According to Thomas Harpointer, chief executive of AIS Media, traditional advertising is reaching a diminishing market.
